Each candidate preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation needs a Confirmation Sponsor. Being a Confirmation Sponsor is a great responsibility. Sponsors are mentors and spiritual friends. Confirmation Sponsors must be mature in their faith and at least 16 years of age. They must be capable and comfortable answering questions the Confirmation Candidate might have about their faith. The Sponsor must have received the Sacrament of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation and be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. Candidates’
parents cannot be their sponsor. However, a candidate’s parent is able to stand in by proxy in the event that the sponsor is unable to attend the Candidate’s Confirmation Mass.
Celebrating Mass is a very important part of your child’s preparation for Confirmation. We encourage Candidates to attend Sunday Mass on a regular basis. Masses are available on the St. Therese YouTube channel.

It is mandatory to properly wear a mask - covering mouth and nose and maintain physical distancewhenever we gather in the church or in the Parish Hall. In order to adhere to health regulations and ensure the safety of everyone in attendance, you may invite 5 guests (this does not include Candidate and Sponsor). Observing these measures reduces both risk and anxiety for others and is an expression of our
Christian charity and concern.
